The word Summit has a different sense of achievement. When in tuned with youth, it adds a twist of passionate action: business. But not just any business. Social business.
The youth being the forerunners of modern and social civility, stood in an enchanting trance of hope, dreams and their own passion when each speaker from the Summit uplifted their very old inner-most probity.
It was a two-days energy driven Summit empowered by the youth for the youth.
The first day of the Summit began with a waited palpitating energy for the event to begin. Hordes of different personalities entered the premise of Westin, with one thing in mind, consumption of knowledge as much as possible.
The Founder & President of SBYA Global, Mr. Shazeeb M Khairul Islam, initiated a welcoming presence among the crowd with his strong forte. While his warm welcome warmed up the crowd, commencement speech by the notable worthy H. E. Sidsel Bleken, Ambassador to Bangladesh, Royal Norwegian Embassy, elaborated her impeccable experience in a delightful manner to the crowd. After her excellency, Mr. Tafsir Mohammed Awal, who currently serves as the Director of Multitude Group, and is actively involved in operational aspects of the Groups concerns, showcased inspirational facet for the participants on that day of the Summit.
Founder & CEO of Conscious Wealth Builders, Livia Caudell, a fanatical speaker, furthermore, boosted up the crowd in a frenzy energy with her speech. The subtle personalities who were in a sleepy stupor previously, woke up in an energetic trance through her speech.
The art and science of networking is an intriguing phenomenon which when applied properly can open the golden doors of ‘joy’. And as joy is one of the key ingredients of Social Business criterion, Mr. Mike Wang, Networking Expert, did an excellent rapport in this manner. After him, the crowd got captured in the eccentric trigger empowered by the powerful lens of none other than, Prito Reza, Co-Founder, Photopreneurs. He just didn’t capture pictures, but rather souls of empathetic essence present in the first day of the Summit. The event quickly drum rolled for an extraordinary presence via a panel session led by Shazeeb M Khairul Islam along with the Queen’s Young Leaders- Sajid Iqbal & Rahat Hossain, they both delineated the importance of impacting a single life before the crowd as an impeccable trust of changing the community.
In addition, The CEO of Light of Hope, Wali Bhuiyan, shed some opportunistic light on the prospects of transforming one’s non-profit organization into a social business! With his delightful charm, his ‘light of hope’ is intrinsic to a higher level of positivity. With the hope to augment traditional Bangladeshi fabrics and craftsmanship, Wahid Hossain created TigerBow, where empowered female artisans’ handicraft bow tie seaming conventional katan material. His noteworthy presence boosted up the crowd further more in a humanly passionate stream.
Upon the schedule of overzealous speakers, food pleasantries and networking sessions engaged the crowd in an energetic sphere.
The first day of the Summit ended with a bang from none other than but the keynote speaker, Hans Reitz, Co-Founder of Grameen Creative Lab, who presented an exhilarating speech among the crowd.
The second day of the Summit commenced with an equal vigor of enthusiasm as the first day of the panel session moderated by Mr. MK Aaref, Director of EMK Centre along with Ms. Parveen Mahmud, Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust, Mr. Tanbir Siddiqui, President of Change Makers and Mr. Shazeeb M Khairul Islam, Founder and CEO of YY Goshti. Followed by an over-zealous speech in Bangladesh’s agricultural sectoral perspective by Mr. Farzeen Ferdous Alam, Founder of Oggro Venture. His innovation in this agricultural sphere infused the crowd with awe. And when Helice Bridges started talking about how an individual makes a difference, she stood out as a leader imposing a thought provoking venture among the crowd to choose empathy above all.
The first key note speech of day two of the Summit was initiated by Mr. Wazed Roger Salam, Founder, the Winner’s Circle. With his enthralling speech about how we are all equal at some point in our lives brought upon a stimulant concept that we should empower equality more often, among the crowd.
The Closing Plenary was then initiated by the ever talented with a touch of gracefulness, Lamiya Morshed, Executive Director, Yunus Centre. Her informative aura captivated the audience in a different enthusiastic light.
In addition, with a humbled yet intriguing charisma, she held the spotlight among the youth in her ever so captivating strong aura. That she is H.E. Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, US Ambassador to Bangladesh. At the Closing Plenary, her excellency, made us ponder upon how the youth of Bangladesh thrives for opportunities and how it’s up to us to seek such golden opportunities with a touch of empathy.
With a more succinct elaboration of ‘joy’ along-side endless encouraging yet empathetic streams, our second Key Note Speaker for the day two Summit, Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, presented himself, the fourth time in a row! His presence enamored the audience with a zest.
The Summit was almost coming to an end, but the Champion and the runners up of Social Business Champ 2017 stole the spotlight from the speakers and held the victory light upon themselves. Out of 365 teams from 9 nationalities, 8 finalists from 4 nationalities, Social Business Champ 2017, presented the Champion to be Phytecare from Malaysia, followed by the 1st Runners up: Paccoo.com from Indonesia, and the 2nd Runners up: Lets Learn Coding from Bangladesh.
Last but not the least, Day Two’s Closing Plenary was wrapped up with the Entertaining Event hosted by Palki Ahmad, Youth Coordinator, UNDP. Her mesmerizing voice soothed the energetic souls in the Summit with a different touch of boosted enthusiasm.
A further engagement of networking dominated the energetic youth of the Summit.
It should be noted that the Summit left an imprint of empathy among the young energetic souls with a zest to do something different yet impactful for the society. The imprint also left a pondering ignition; it ignited the entrepreneurs within. As the very tagline of the Social Business Youth Summit 2017 was ‘Igniting the Entrepreneur within’, the end result of the Summit was succinctly fruitful.
