The initial idea round was open from 7th May to 21st May and required the teams to breifly discuss a social problem. 100 teams were selected from this round. The next round, the teams prepared a full business plan from which top 50 were sent into the presentation round to give a visual solution. Only 10 teams could make it to the finals where they needed to present their plan one last time but this time in front of some experienced social business experts and had to convince them why their plan was the best.
The grand finale was held at EMK Centre in Dhanmondi in last week of June, 2016. The 10 teams that were selected for the finals consisted participants from North South University (NSU), Dhaka University (DU) and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).
The winners were declared and cheers and applause broke out for Team Brainlash from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). Team The Lannisters consisting students of DU, NSU and BUP was the first runner-up, while Team Artemis from BUP got the second runner-up award.
The competition ended with positive notes for our society and left glimpse of hope for the problems we face around us. The award giving ceremony was conducted on the second day of the Social Business Youth Summit held on the 13th of August 2016 by Nobel Laureate Professor. Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
